There are some changes happening in your organization, but yet everything is still the same - and you are just waiting for the other shoe to drop? Or is it too different? Well buck up. Swim through it, not over it. And encourage your employees to do the same. Sometimes the fear of a dark cavern is more safe than the clear waters above. Especially for your company. The cost of retraining is huge, your employees need to feel that they are in a safe place, no matter how murky the water is. How do you keep them on board? Be open, honest, keep them in the loop. Be the clear water for them. Be an authentic leader. They are more likely to stay with you that way.
Who would have ever though that so much wisdom could come from one little movie? And no, I'm not just talking about Dori's little diddy of "Just keep swimming" (although always a good lesson) but rather the variety of life lessons in leadership that will help all of us to create leaders within ourselves, even those of us who never knew we had it in us in the first place.
